Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 October 2026

In short: You can play without an email, a password or your real name. We create a random pilot ID for you. We store your game numbers and your typing stats so the shared rocket, the leaderboards and your stats page work. We do not run ads, analytics or tracking cookies, and we never sell data. You can delete everything at any time from Stats → Delete my data.

1. Who is responsible

The data controller for typonauts.com is [FULL NAME], [CITY], Türkiye (“we”, “us”).

We do not collect your name, email, phone number or precise location. When you first visit, the game guesses a flag from your browser language. That guess happens in your browser and is only saved if you keep that flag.

3. What other players can see

Your callsign (or “A pilot” if you have none), your flag and your word counts appear on public leaderboards. The top three pilots of each finished mission are listed in the mission history. Your typing stats are never shown to others.

4. Service providers

We use two providers who process data on our behalf under data processing agreements:

Both companies are based in the United States and may process data outside your country. Where data leaves the EU/EEA, this is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses included in their data processing agreements. The site loads its fonts and code from our own domain. No data goes to Google Fonts, ad networks or analytics services.

5. Storage in your browser

We do not set cookies. The game uses your browser's local storage for things it needs to work: your sign-in token, settings (flag, paint, callsign, difficulty, whether you saw the intro), and a local copy of your progress and stats. If Turnstile is enabled, Cloudflare may use storage needed for its security check. Because all of this is strictly necessary for the game you request, no consent banner is required. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

6. How long we keep data

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete and port your data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to restrict processing. The fastest way to delete everything is Stats → Delete my data in the game. It removes your pilot, stats and callsign, including from past mission results. For any other request, email privacy@typonauts.com and include your pilot ID if you can. We answer within one month. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Children

Typonauts is a general-audience typing game and asks for no personal details. If you are under 16 (or the age of digital consent in your country), please play with a parent's permission and do not use your real name as a callsign.

9. Security

All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). The database only accepts changes through checked server functions, and each pilot can read only their own private data.

10. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above. For important changes we will show a notice in the game.
